Linga Longa Bike Park reopened to the public on the weekend of June 20 – 21, 2020.
The weekend was a resounding success with over 200 riders each day enjoying our trails for the first time in months. Enthusiastic riders and their families traveled from far away as Geraldton, Perth and Albany. Full of pent up energy and excitement to be at LLBP again. It was a spectacular sight to once again see riders on our trails. Trails such as Boxers Blast and Valley of Dreams and the brave few who flew over the new Skywalker Drop.
A large number camped at Linga Longa over the weekend enjoying time socialising and riding the trails together. Others stayed in local nearby accomodation in the nearby towns of Balingup and Bridgetown.
The weather over the weekend was absolutely superb, with typical Linga Longa crisp misty mornings giving way to clear blue sunny skies.
The ‘new normal’ meant lots of changes and restructuring on how we operate and function as a business. As we were the first cab off the rank implementing a large outdoor cycling event, we really needed to tick all the COVID – 19 boxes. Riders were given face masks to wear on the shuttle busses at all times. Each bus was given a good clean and sanitise at the beginning of each shuttle run. The tables and chairs in our cafe area were spread out to adhere to physical distancing and were cleaned regularly.
We are over the moon that Linga Longa is Unlocked and are busy working and planning for the future of LLBP.
