WORLD LEADING SCIENTIST TO PRESENT AT THE GOLDEN VALLEY TREE PARK BALINGUP SATURDAY 19 OCTOBER 2019
An engaging and inspiring speaker, Professor Lyn Beazley AO FAA FTSE is to deliver a fascinating free public talk on the 4.7 billion year history of this region.
Professor Beazley will also look at the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead particularly with climate change.
Speaking from Cornwall in the UK where Lyn is currently visiting, she said ‘I may stray a little from the topic!’
‘Whatever Professor Beazley delivers, it will be engaging, entertaining and most informative,’ said long-term colleague and chair of the Golden Valley Tree Park management committee Gary Hodge.
As Chief Scientist of Western Australia from 2006 to 2013, Lyn advised the Western Australian Government on science, innovation and technology as well as fulfilling the role of science ambassador locally, nationally and internationally.
In 2009, Lyn was awarded Officer of the Order of Australia and was inducted into the inaugural WA Women’s Hall of Fame and more recently as a Fellow of the prestigious Australian Academy of Science.
The community are invited to attend this free event and socialise after with Professor Beazley and the Golden Valley Tree Park Management Committee over afternoon tea under the main gazebo of the park in its beautiful Springtime setting.
