Origins Centre is a registered charitable, not-for-profit NGO founded in 1983. We are a respite, retreat and community activity centre located outside the town of Balingup, 2.5-3 hours southwest of Perth, Western Australia.
The Centre welcomes individuals and groups for respite, retreat, activities, courses and events. Accommodation, amenities and facilities are available by donation. There are private and shared rooms as well as communal kitchen and living spaces.
Anyone who uses the Centre shares responsibility for general domestic care and maintenance of our facilities. Please respect that Origins Centre is a drug and alcohol free space.
Guests are required to bring their own food and linen. We recommend bringing sheets, pillowcases and blankets or sleeping bags. Please note that it can be quite cool at night in the southwest.
Use of accommodation and facilities is by donation. There is a special vase and envelopes where people can put their donation..
The Centre has indoor facilities to accommodate up to 20 people. There are 10 rooms: 2 rooms with three single beds each; 5 rooms with two single beds each; 2 rooms with a queen-sized bed each and 1 family room with one queen and one single bed.
We also have a self-contained cottage with one bedroom.
There is a fully equipped communal kitchen, dining and lounge area. We have a substantial library including some children’s books, toys and play equipment.
The Rotunda is a beautiful, spacious eight-sided meeting room suitable for mindfulness, music, yoga, etc. A special shrine building called the “Alcove’ is currently under construction. The ‘Alcove’ will house some special Buddhist Artefacts to commemorate our links with Traditional Teachings.
